This is another day trip that included a stop at the highest point in Thailand and the Watchirathan waterfall as well as one at a hill tribe village. Unlike the first hill tribe village AlteCocker saw--which was mostly for tourists--this one was authentic. Yes, the do weaving but there is a weaving cooperative and no pressure to buy. The weavings are labelled with the name of the woman who made them. If you buy one, that woman gets the money. They also made coffee cooked over an open fire as the village has no electricity. Almost all of us bought coffee. As you can see, AlteCocker enjoyed this village much better than the first one--and she almost did not get out of the van when she heard a hill tribe village was on the agenda.
